Saturday, March 1, 2008 11:00 am to 1:00 pm RiverPark Center lobby and Cannon Hall
Imagine interacting with some of the best musicians this region offers! That’s what onStage! offers your young people. Students and their parents interact with OSO musicians —professionals who travel to Owensboro from Cincinnati, Nashville, Bloomington, Indianapolis and other cities. Students observe part of a symphony dress rehearsal, tour the RiverPark Center’s backstage, and meet Maestro Nicholas Palmer.
January 24, 2009, onStage! presents a unique bi-lingual (Spanish/English) look at the heart of the OSO as it prepares for the masterworks concert, Latin Fiesta. The program features music from Latin America and Spain, from a mariachi fiesta to a night in Old Havana. We want to bring in our Hispanic community for an exciting experience with this shared cultural heritage.
On April 18, 2009, onStage! takes an inside look at the OSO musicians and actors (from the Theatre Workshop of Owensboro) who will perform Ellis Island: The Dream of America, an exciting new work by American composer Peter Boyer. This show seeks those young people interested in the theater as well as our country’s multi-ethnic heritage.
The program fee is $5 per person (parents free when accompanied by their children). For more information, please email David Goodwin or call him at (270) 684-0661, ext. 23.
